My role
Led the creative development and design of the annual report, establishing a clear visual direction that aligned with the existing NHS Birmingham and Solihull CCG brand identity and colour palette. Developed a consistent editorial layout across the report, balancing narrative content, photography, graphic-led pages and financial statements to create a publication that was engaging, accessible and easy to navigate.
Overview
The project involved designing a 158 page annual report to communicate the CCG’s progress, achievements and impact over the reporting period. The design brought together a range of content types, ensuring the report remained consistent, clear and aligned with NHS communication standards.
Approach
The design focused on creating a structured and engaging publication that made complex information easier to understand while supporting the CCG’s key messages. Key elements included:
-
- Development of a new visual direction using the existing NHS Birmingham and Solihull CCG brand identity and colour palette
- Design and artwork of a 158 page annual report
- Graphic-led pages highlighting key achievements, priorities and outcomes
- Clear presentation of financial statements and supporting information
- Selection and integration of supplied photography
- Accessibility checking and preparation of the final print ready PDF

Impact
The completed annual report provided a clear and professional platform for communicating the CCG’s achievements, priorities and financial information. The consistent visual approach supported readability, strengthened the presentation of key messages and helped make complex information accessible to a broad range of NHS stakeholders and local communities.
